Therapy

Therapy

It’s becoming increasingly common that people go to therapy or to see therapists for the most varied reasons. There are couples therapists, counselors, etc. There are even therapists that specialize in more obscure realms of the mind, like hypnosis, sometimes combining them with more down to earth therapies, sometimes as the only approach. This is sometimes referred to as a sign of modern times, of people looking for solutions outside their grasp and resorting to others to solve their problems for them.

But just because people are more willing to work on their problems or aren’t too proud to look for help it doesn’t mean that they are in the wrong. In fact, admitting that you have a problem and that you need therapy is often a great show of courage. No matter how good we feel about ourselves, therapy is often a great catalyst to everyday problems. They say that every human being is on a journey to get to know his or her self, and often therapy is a step in that direction. Not being afraid to question your life and having the courage to go deeper into the mysteries of your own mind is something that should be praised, and never mocked.
